January 2022 Update: Furthering God’s Kingdom
As the New year begins, we give thanks unto the Lord for His mercy endures forever!
We have enjoyed some very special moments over Christmas with the JCI kids. Our joy was to see the children enjoying all the Christmas celebrations. Some of them said this was the first time they ever received a gift of their own! Natasha turned 11 and she was quite emotional when she said this was the first time that she ever had a birthday cake. Rachel is so thankful to the Lord for bringing her into a family who loves her and her baby, she feels so blessed at this time.
Friends, let us never cease to give thanks to the Lord for his lovingkindness towards us all. Yes, there is so much bad news in the world, but God is good, and his love endures forever!
Yes, the virus is once again going house to house! Many children are sick with fever, vomiting, headaches and coughs. Three of our children have been ill this week and we were able to treat them with medicines I had brought from Australia. The local pharmacies are running out of basic medicines like Panadol and cough syrup. We were able to buy the last bottle on the shelf yesterday for our children. The line up at the pharmacies have people desperately hoping they can get medicines for their children. We are giving vitamins with prayer every morning and we thank the Lord our children are now recovering. High fever and vomiting have caused other children to be admitted to hospital for IV fluids. Lemon juice with warm water and honey is helpful for the sore throat they complain of. We are cooking with lots of garlic and ginger for immune support.
Manila is again on Alert level 3, so the children and unvaccinated adults need to remain at home! A vaccination card is now required wherever we go. In these changing times, let us keep looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith.
Edmond & Carmie have been our dedicated house parents for 7 years. They are now in the final stage of their visa application to Australia. Carmie has applied as a carer for Chloe, and we wish them all the best in their application. Therefore, JCI is now looking for new house parents. We pray the Lord will send us another couple who will love the children and care for them with God’s love. Please add this to your prayer time also.
God's superabundant goodness and grace are available to you now and every day that's found ahead in 2022. God isn't just with you now, but He is waiting for you in your January, your February, your March, April and May, and each moment throughout the year. May your 2022 be marked by His favour as you continue to trust in Him, lean upon Him and draw your strength from His marvellous and magnificent presence.
We are tremendously grateful for all the ways that you chose to sow into what God is doing through Joshua Care. We've seen significant growth than previous years and we are planning to accommodate for future growth. As Joshua Cafe expands, we are believing for God to lead the way!
Thank you for the vital part you play!
