April 2020 Update: All Things Work Together for Good!
Hi Friends,
First and foremost, we want you to know that we are praying for you! We are praying for your peace, praying for your health, and we are praying for the Lord’s daily guidance in your life.
I am writing to you from Meadowbrook Australia. Arturo & I were so blessed to have arrived back home just before the Lockdown. Truly all things work together for good as we read in Romans 8:28.
A week after we left Manila, the Philippines went into lockdown and that meant everyone had to remain at home. Our 8 JCI foster kids are so blessed they are in a good house and they do have food to eat. They are able to exercise on the rooftop and they have a schedule to study, chores to do, and they are taking turns to share in their daily devotions. They also have games and puzzles to fill in the long hours at home.
Please do keep praying for our JCI sponsored children & their families in this time though. Most of them live in very small shanties which are dimly lit and stuffy. The iron roofing makes daytime very hot. Most of their houses are about 4m X 4m which includes the kitchen and bathroom space! These families were already living below poverty and since the lockdown they have had very little to eat. We have kept in contact with all of them and a lot are still waiting for the government relief aid to reach them!
JCI were able to distribute some relief packs for those desperate with no food & no money. These were given out last Saturday with a very grateful response. If you can help JCI to continue this valued support, you can give here joshuacare.org/donatenew.
We could not do this without YOU. You are supporting these children’s future, health, and wellbeing. We are financially able to provide groceries and keep the house in the highest standards in this time of need, because of you. Please know that this extreme blessing is not lost on us. We are overflowing with gratitude and thankfulness.
We are disappointed that we will not be able to meet with all our sponsors in person this time round due to the quarantine restrictions, but we are praying for a quick stop to this virus. For God’s healing power to invade every home in Jesus’ name. And while we are standing, we are standing strong. All is well in the household of faith!
Love in Christ,
Sharon Del Valle & the Joshua Care Team
