WHEN: Saturday, September 3
WHERE: Alexandra Clark Park
DETAILS: Fun run to help raise money for under-privileged families in the Philippines, 7.30am to 9.30am
ON your marks, get set, go.
A fun run to help raise funds for under-privileged families in the Philippines will be held this weekend at Alexandra Clark Park.
There will be two different walking tracks for every fitness level.
Even coordinator Eden Del Valle said she had travelled to the Philippines on numerous occassions, and had seen first hand what these families required.
“We are raising money for Joshua Care International which helps raise money for under-privileged children,” she said.
“We give out clothes and medical supplies.”
“There are about 500 to 1000 people we help.”
Mrs Del Valle and her family will be travelling back to the Philippines in a few weeks time to personally help and deliver necessary items to the families.
She said the fun run would be a great day out for the whole family.
“Spring is here and we thought it would be a fun way for everybody to get active and have fun while raising money,” she said.
“We will also be handing out goody bags, which is included in the registration price. They will include a water bottle, t-shirt, discount food vouchers and lollies.”
Mrs Del Valle said this was the first year the fun run had operated and she hoped it would be the first of many.
The fun run starts at 7.30am and finishes at 9.30am, with morning tea provided.
Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children.

EFREN FERNANDEZ UPDATES in Health and Medical Program
We are glad to give you updates concerning EFREN FERNANDEZ.
aside from his educational sponsorship and his ongoing medical procedure,
we recently received certain amount from his sponsor (JO AND SHANE) intended for his immediate needs
wherein we were able to get him his personal, educational and documentation needs.
aside from getting him t-shirt, shoes, P.E uniforms, socks, soap and etc, we were also able
to process his BIRTH CERTIFICATE since we found no record of him when we have it verified
at the office of the civil registry, but now, we are proud to accomplish such thing.
pictures at the play grounds was the time we spent together while waiting for our turn for his check-up.
the play ground is just walking distance from the hospital.
note that his next appointment to his doctor will be on November 24, 2011.
please pray with us for his quick and favorable medical procedures.
we will keep you posted on what’s going on with him from time to time.

April 2011 Mission to Manila a Milestone Event… in Mission Trips
Lloyd , Jenny, & Elle returned to Manila with me for the Mt. Moriah Christian Academy Graduation and Recognition services Friday 1st April. All were thrilled to see Angelica Ringais receive the Valedictorian Award and her moving speech also gave THANKS to Joshua Care International and her sponsor Shirley Grecean. Ellwood Forbes and John Perry Comprado were also among the graduating students.
Along with our CONGRATULATIONS to the students we wish to say a Very Big THANK YOU to all our faithful sponsors for your kind commitment in sponsoring these dear children all the way to their graduation. click here to see pictures http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=212129248844190&set=a.212129232177525.53619.212065832183865&type=1&theater
Visiting some of the children in their homes has reminded us once more of the difficulties these people face due to lack of resources. Despite holes in the roof this family was very happy for the sponsors to come into their home for a few minutes
Here in the graveyard, Elle met a dear little girl who too was asking to be sponsored and so the JCI family grows.
Monday the MEDICAL MISSION was a great success as three hundred people gathered to see the doctors, nurses and counselors who cared for them with Gods Love. Medications obtained from our partners PROJECT LUKE and SPRINGWOOD NATURAL HEALTH, were given free of charge until there was none left!
JCI is happy to work together with the local Council who also provided doctors, medicines and equipment for some procedures in the afternoon. click here to view photos http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=212102728846842&set=a.212102678846847.53611.212065832183865&type=1&theater
Tuesday the JCI families gathered for some fun and fellowship with their Aussie friends. Jenny Painted pictures as Israel told the story, Sharon encouraged the JCI families then Elle taught the children to make bracelets. Lloyd entertained the young ones who had much fun with balloons and in the afternoon they all made letters for their sponsors. At the end of the day each family went home with the prayer of Blessing. click here to see pictures http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=212133265510455&set=a.212133035510478.53621.212065832183865&type=1&theater
Wednesday the feeding program was well attended and they all enjoyed the good food cooked by the JCI mothers. Click here to see pictures http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=212141875509594&set=a.212138962176552.53623.212065832183865&type=1&theater
After the feeding we visited Bella’s clinic to give the donated items from the Logan midwives. Bella is very grateful for the donation of such useful items.
Friday we went to the CHOSEN CHILDREN VILLAGE to help care of the disabled children who have been abandoned or surrendered. That was a very heart moving experience for all our team.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all our generous sponsors for your kind support. It is you who have made it possible for us to go and make a difference in one little corner of the world. Thanks also to Israel, Jerome and all the JCI family who continue this work long after we have gone home…
GOD BLESS YOU Always
Sincerely,
