October 23 Update: Building and Expanding

RETURNING TO MANILA

Arturo & Sharon have returned to Manila and the JCI family are very happy to see them. Sophia has grown so much, and she is now starting to talk. The children are all back at school and studying well. Julius the social worker has resigned to go back home to see his elderly grandmother and a new social worker, Cynthia has joined the team.

ZEDRICK

Zedrick is our brave little boy who has Crouzons syndrome. He is already 5 years old and he started school this year. When he was only two years old Zedrick had to have head surgery and the very strong antibiotics made his teeth so soft they eroded down to his gums. He will be having another surgery next week. Due to repeated infections he needs to have all his baby teeth removed. We pray all goes well for his surgery and a speedy recovery. Hopefully his new teeth will soon come up and he will be able to eat normal food. Zedrick is a happy boy. He is bright and well able to communicate. We ask for your prayers as he will require ongoing medical support as he grows. Special thanks to the kind friends who donated the funds for his operation. God bless you more.

BUILDING PROJECT

Thank you to all our partners and friends who so generously give towards the building fund. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing the house finished and the new furniture in place. Please pray with us for the prompt approval of documentations as there are many requirements which prolong the process of obtaining all the permits required. Several weeks for Electrical connection, water connection, occupancy permit etc. Hopefully all will be attended by December - January so that we can begin to plan for the opening of the new building. For those who wish to come to visit JCI for this special event, we are planning a thanksgiving service for the end of February 2024.

GRADUATION

John Kim Panta who has recently graduated from College as Magna Cum Laude. John Kim has been supported by JCI for 12 years and he is deeply grateful to his sponsors John Nicholls and Lesley DuPlessis for their faithful support in his education. John Kim will be a great inspiration to his students as he now teaches at Mt Moriah Christian Academy. We are proud of this young man who has graduated with Honesty, Integrity and Compassion and is always willing to support the upcoming JCI students. God Bless you Kim.
