Daniel Orlango – JCI Medical Missions need a boost in Medical Program
Sadly, Daniel Orlango a young Filipino boy with various serious illnesses died in October 2006 before he could receive the necessary medical procedures that would have saved his life.
Sharon Del Valle first met Daniel and his family in January 2006 and, being a registered nurse was able to quickly identify the medical attention that Daniel would require. After returning to Australia she was able to locate a sponsor (a kind doctor from the Logan Hospital in Brisbane) who agreed to pay for the operation to help Daniel.
Sharon brought this news to Daniels family in September and they were extremely excited and appreciative by the kindness shown by this sponsor in Australia to help their son. As they began to make plans to deliver the life saving medial attention in October, Daniel, sadly, died.
Although JCI was able to contribute towards helping with the funeral expenses this event demonstrates the willingness of people to share the compassion of Christ by helping others in need. It also reminds us of the need to be able to arrange funding and delivery of medical services quickly to those in need. Time is of the essence. If you think you can help in any way in this area please contact Sharon at JCI.
