Mission and Vision

MISSION -JCI is committed  to meeting the immediate needs of indigent children and families with food, clothing, medical assistance and    quality education  and to developed a Christ-centered life.

VISION -To see the children attain  their potentials and make a great impact in their community through the testimony of their own lives.

Joshua Care International is a ministry to children and families living in Bagumbayan and the surrounding areas of Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The focus of JCI ministries, are the poor and disadvantaged. Some of these people have made their homes in the local cemetery. Sadly, children can be seen digging in the garbage nearby to find things to sell at the junk shop. This is a far cry from the promise of Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for good and not evil; plans to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future.”

Education receives a lower priority than the daily survival issues but it is essential for the children to have a future that can rise above these conditions.

Our aim is to provide a framework for the development of quality Academic, Spiritual and Social life skills in the community so that a healthy Christ centred perspective is achieved for each individual. This is done by assisting the families in the community with basic living necessities and providing quality Christian based Educational scholarships.

Why the name ‘Joshua’ Care?

Sharon Del Valle is a caring mother, midwife nurse and is Joshua Care International’s founding director. Following is an outline demonstrating her strong passion and commitment to serve and help these children.

The name JOSHUA means Salvation… and bares a strong similarity to the name of JESUS as it carries the same meaning.

Jesus brought Love, Life, Healing and Hope to the people he encountered. And that for me is a personal goal, not to walk away and forget but instead to reach out and touch these people in their need. I want to make a difference!!! Joshua is my maiden name and I treasure the rich heritage I have in that name. Thus I have given that name to the ministry birthed in my heart.

My husband Arturo comes from the Philippines and since my very first visit to his home land, compassion and love for the people of this country has continued to grow within me and never left my heart and mind. The people are a happy race, Welcoming, Hospitable, Smiling & Friendly, my heart was moved when I went there. I could not go home and forget their plight. I believe the Lord has been preparing my heart for many years to go forward now and accomplish those things He has purposed for me to do.

However there is no way I could do this great work on my own! With Gods help I will heed the call. With Faith in my heart I am trusting Him to provide everything I need to go forth and reap the harvest… to feed the poor, show compassion to the lost and share God’s Love, especially to the children.

To give hope where there is no hope…
